A practical checklist for launching a voice agent in a bank
Identity checks, disclosure rules and escalation paths — what to set up before you switch on live traffic.

Banks have the most to gain from voice automation and the least room for error. A careful launch keeps customers safe and builds trust with your risk team.
1. Decide what the agent may disclose
List every piece of information the agent can share and the verification level required for each. A branch opening time needs none; an account balance needs a verified caller.
2. Choose your verification method
Common options are an OTP sent to the registered phone number, a telephone PIN, or knowledge-based questions. Verification results are logged against every call.
3. Map escalation paths
Define when the agent must hand over: fraud reports, disputes above a threshold, distressed callers. Each hand-off includes a summary so officers do not start from zero.
4. Start with a controlled pilot
Route a small share of traffic, review transcripts daily and refine. Expand once containment and satisfaction hold steady.
5. Keep auditors close
Recordings, transcripts, actions taken and the data each step accessed are all stored and exportable for audit.
